INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Social Media Intern at Porter Novelli Brussels

Are you smart, driven and passionate about social media? You love it and you want to spend the whole day learning and doing it? Then you will fit perfectly into the Porter Novelli Social Media Team! We need an intern who is looking to dive in and get their hands dirty and is willing to do everything related to social media from research through tweeting to blogging and more!

Responsibilities:

  • Social media research across any given topic (collecting, organizing and analyzing data)
  • Social media monitoring
  • Social media outreach
  • Blogging
  • Developing creative ideas for social media campaigns
  • Any other tasks given by a supervisor

Requirements:

  • Familiarity and interest in Web 2.0, social media and the blogosphere
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Fluent in English (and preferably another European language)

Bonus points if:

  • You’re an active blogger
  • Have more than 250 followers on Twitter
  • Speak several languages

Start date: August or September

Job type:
Full-time (preferred)

Internship – Public Affairs

6 months full time

Description

Porter Novelli Brussels regularly runs internships in its Public Affairs department. The role is suited to graduates with a practical understanding of the EU institutions and EU decision making who are fluent in English and either French or Dutch, and can complete an internship in the context of a course of academic study.

The intern will support the team’s ongoing client activity on a range of Brussels and global projects in public affairs and public relations. Our clients are multinational companies and industry federations and coalitions with national and global political and media communication programs.

The intern will be a team member involved in the day-to-day support of client projects by drafting strategic materials (i.e. policy analysis, stakeholder mapping, etc.) and by conducting research on a variety of client related issues. In addition, the intern will be asked to use demonstrated tactical abilities and have good written and oral communication skills to contribute to our projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Use practical understanding of the European institutions and EU policy making to carry out research and analysis and compile background information on various EU policy making processes and negotiations
  • Monitor media and political issues
  • Research and analytical skills to produce drafts of written materials, such as summaries, presentations, commercial proposals and other client materials
  • Attend different meetings and conferences in Brussels and report on them
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions and develop communication plans for clients
  • Support other team members as necessary in order to complete client projects
  • Use organisation, communication and representation skills for other responsibilities as assigned during the internship
