Digital Seminar @PN Amstelveen

by Marta Majewska

Yesterday, the first digital seminar of our EMEA roadshow took place in the PN Amstelveen office. The event attracted high attendance from the social media knowledge seekers. Participants came from all different industries ranging from automotive to gaming. We also welcomed three attendees from the most popular social network site in the Netherlands – Hyves.

After some opening words from Maurice Jansen, Director @PN Amstelveen and the organizer of the seminar, Gary, John and Danny gave a lively presentation during which they discussed Porter Novelli’s take on digital and its role in the communications industry. They presented the most important trends that are shaping the communications industry these days from augmented reality through location-based services to gaming. There were some great and varied questions from the audience that initiated a spirited discussion.

The event was rounded up with a drink where more discussions on digital and social media took place and we were happy to receive many enthusiastic reactions from the attendees.

Kudos to PN in the Netherlands for hosting the event!

EMEA DIGITAL TOUR KICK OFF!

by Marta Majewska
.
Yesterday, we proudly kicked off the EMEA digital tour in the Porter Novelli Amstelveen office! The Netherlands is the first country, followed by Belgium and Spain, where we will be hosting the digital seminars starring our Porter Novelli digital experts namely Gary Stockman (Porter Novelli CEO), John Havens (VP, Social Media at Porter Novelli and the author of the book, Tactical Transparency), Danny Devriendt (Director Digital Europe) accompanied by me 😉

It was a lovely sunny day and we received a very warm welcome from our Dutch colleagues who even decorated their entire building especially for us – no, the decoration has nothing to do with the WK 😉

The day long discussions about social and digital media were rounded up with a great internal session during which we discussed the trends currently shaping the communication ecosystem and shared our digital experiences with each other.

We finished off with a drink where more discussions on social media took place (the digital talk never stops at PN 🙂 )!

Today is another exciting day in our tour – we are holding our first seminar for the Porter Novelli clients, media and other interested parties. Wish us luck!

“I AM RUNNING FOR KACPER” – A PROJECT THAT INSPIRES

by Marta Majewska

Together with our Polish partner, Headlines Porter Novelli, we are supporting a wonderful project called “I am running for Kacper” initiated by a dad of a 1.5 year old boy, Kacper, who was born with an undeveloped left arm and no left hand. Dariusz Szwast, Kacper’s dad, is planning to run 750km (465 miles) across Poland, from north to south, with a main goal to generate financial resources for the treatment, rehabilitation and the prostheses for his little boy.

Impressed by Dariusz’s attitude and determination, Porter Novelli decided to support the project with strategic advice, media and social media activities, celebrity endorsement and sponsoring. The action has started on June 1, International Children’s Day, and already attracted a lot of media and public attention. In addition to receiving an extensive coverage in the Polish National TV, press and radio, the project is being supported by a large group of Polish celebrities including TV presenters, popular actors and politicians. Some of them will run with Dariusz and that includes our own Joanna Pruszyńska-Witkowska, Headlines CEO, who will accompany Kacper’s dad as he runs through Warsaw. Many fans are following and encouraging Dariusz through the project’s Facebook Fanpage, his Facebook profile and his blog and we are hoping for even more support in the upcoming weeks.

Are you inspired by this story and would like to help? Please visit the project’s website for further instructions on how to contribute: http://www.kacperkowy-skwerek.pl/.

Danny @SXSW: Getting ready

My jet-lagged-bones woke me up a full three hours before my alarm clock was set, so it was a quick, dirty, short night (had an argument with my air-conditioning unit on noise pollution). But hey, sleep is way overrated anyway :-) .

Finally met the complete Porter Novelli Austin gang. Funny to shake hands with some of my favorite online avatars… Great also to see some good old familiar faces. Setting up the #SXSW booth, picking up our badges, testing equipment; fine-tuning the plethora of Social Media channels that we’re going to lean on (heavily :-) ) over the next days…
